Cover picture: Simultaneously collected near-field force (left) and fluorescence (right) images of a phase separated DPPC monolayer doped with a fluorescent marker specific for the less dense phase. The small height differences (5-8 Å) seen in the force image are directly correlated with the fluorescence structures, which allows for the unambiguous assignment of the coexisting lipid phases.
