The open channel model was constructed using the NMR-derived structure of TM2 of Yushmanov et al. (Biochemistry. 2003. 42:3989-3995) as its initial basis. All figures are C-terminus view before energy minimization, with purple bonds representing M263 and pink bonds representing L255. The closed structures were generated from the open model by rotating the M2 segments 15°ree; in the counterclockwise sense (center) or by untilting the M2 segments (right).
